Explore and Experience the World of Movies, Bring Art, and Science Imagination to Entertainment Industry in “Fascination of Film Making Exhibition

Mr.Suwarong Wongsiri, vice president, National Science Museum (NSM) has presided over “Fascination of Film Making” exhibition on October 31, 2023 at  NSM Science Museum, Klong 5, Klong Luang, Pathum Thani. The exhibition invites NSM audience to embark on a journey into the world of filmmaking, from the first short film to the world’s influential entertainment industry. The audience will experience learning through the development of technology and production process integrated by art and science.  The exhibition aims to pass on knowledge about film production to youth groups to study and pursue a career in the film industry which will respond to the needs of creative economy policy in the future. Ms. Umaporn Khrue-khamwang, director of NSM Science Museum Academic Office also joined the opening.

 

Ms.Umaporn said “the exhibition has been arranged in association with many partners, for example,  Communication Arts Network: Faculty of Communication Arts Siam University, Faculty of Communication Arts Rangsit University, Faculty of Mass Communication Technology Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi, Sahamongkol Film International Company, Ltd., GDH 559 Company, Ltd., and Film Archive (Public Organization). We expect that youth and the public audience will get fun and learn more from inside story of film making, and can draw knowledge to apply it in daily life which leads to further understanding and self-development.”

The exhibition is divided into 3 zones:

-zone 1, “Welcome to The World of Cinematography” takes everyone to explore the history and technology propelled world and Thailand film industry.

-Zone 2, “Behind the Scenes” (Production & Career) simulates steps in various parts of the film creation process, from preproduction, production, to postproduction, through multimedia and experimentation from real experience, including presenting the various careers involved in making movies.

-Zone 3, “The Red Carpet” simulates the red-carpet atmosphere of film awarding. The exhibition presents knowledge about each award given to roles in film industry both on screens and behind the scenes.  

The “Fascination of Film making” has run from October 31, 2023 to July 31, 2024 at NSM Science Museum, Klong 5, Klong Luang, Pathum Thani, on Tuesday-Sunday, 09.30 a.m.-03.00 p.m., Saturday, Sunday, and public holidays will open at 09.30 a.m.-05.00 p.m., and close on Monday.
