NSM Sets Up Cheerful and Empowering Events for Summer Break: Science Camps, Volunteer, Profession Workshop, On-line Learning and Universal Quantum

Prof.Dr.Rawin Raviwongse, President, National Science Museum (NSM) has announced in a press conference; on February 27, 2025, to set out a diverse range of fun and inspiring activities for vacation; with a concept “ NSM will arrange full amusing activities to awake inspiration during vacation”. Youth participating in activities will absorb many learning experiences of amusing science to improve their analysis skills as well as self-exploration. The activities targeted to create and enhance an inspiration and knowledge of science, technology and innovation for scientific thinking process and upcoming country development; according to the policy of Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation; Ms.Supamas Isarapakdi.

He explained that one- day science camps held at Science Square, the Street Ratchada will be categorized into 2 events: 1) the 1st Engineering Design Process “Earthquake: Unravelling the Secrets of Earthquake”, on March 26, and 2nd Camp on March 27, and 2) “Food Science” Camp; to transform kitchen to lab will transfer experiences on comprehensive food science held on April 2 and April 3.   
A one -day science camp at Chiang Mai Science Square: a “Secret of PM 2.5 in Science: Live or Die to Fight It” camp will be held on March 21 and March 22, 2025. 


In the second group, “NSM Amazing Science” held for high school students to join as volunteers in museums. The participants will spend their free time creatively to get experiences and inspiration in science learning for their future career paths, and share services to other visitors in museums. Before now, the first volunteer activity held by NSM was highly welcomed from the youth groups. 

The third group are a variety of career workshops for youth, for example, painting, animal staffing, raising beautiful, exotic ants and ants for food, Thai mask coloring to learn its evolution, design art, etc. 

The fourth are on-line activities held on NSM’s platforms, such as NSM Podcast, Science Metaverse Museum, etc.
He further explained that NSM has also created a “Universal Quantum” activity and IT special workshop: “Quantum Mechanics: the Engine that Created Innovations to Change the World” on April1, 4, 10, 18, 22 and 29 at NSM, Klong 5, Klong Luang, Pathum Thani. Another IT workshop on “Micro Bit Puppet Robot” will be arranged on March 30 at NSM Science Square, the Street Ratchada. 

An activity of designing and creating patterns on tie-dye fabrics; “the Dye Cloth” will be held on March 22 at NSM Science Square, the Street Ratchada, and March 28-29 at NSM Science Square Chiang Mai.  

He said that “Outdoor Lap Space” events: World Water Day 2025, and “Save Our Glaciers”; a learning of melting glaciers caused by global warming are also arranged during March 22- 23 at NSM Klong 5, and Green Teen Lab “Climate Change: A Closer Look”, April 5-6. at NSM Klong 5, Klong Luang, Pathum Thani. 
Prof.Dr.Rawin added “I expect that the activities to be held during the summer break at NSM Klong 5, Science Squares at the Street Ratchada, Korat and Chiang Mai  will enhance students and parents get skills and knowledge of science with a bundle of Laughs.”
