NSM& Alliances Pick 4 YTSA Science Communicators to visit Germany

National Science Museum (NSM) and its alliances: the Science Society of Thailand Under the Patronage of His Majesty the King (SCISOC), Goethe Institut Thailand, and Thai Public Broadcasting Service (TPBS) have closed the 20th Young Thai Science Ambassador: YTSA#20 with a theme: Net Zero and the Circular Economy.  Four winners of Young Thai Science Communicators to join a study visit on advanced science and technology in the Federal Republic of Germany.

Making joy and pride, on April 20, 2025 at NSM, Klong 5, Klong Luang, Pathum Thani province, Asst.Prof.Dr.Rawin Raviwongse, President of NSM, Dr. Chanintr Chalisarapong, Vice President of SCISOC, Mr.Andreas Klempin, regional science &media project manager, Goethe and Arjan Chayanin Chaladthanyakij, School of Communication Arts, Siam University have presented awards to 10 outstanding from 26 young participants joined the intensive training program of science communication skills.

Asst.Dr.Rawin said “I would like to commend the 26 youths who have demonstrated their outstanding communication skills. They are our proud representatives of the 20th generation of the Thai Youth Science Ambassadors who played an important role in disseminating knowledge of science, technology, and innovation, particularly, applying scientific processes to climate change issues. They can communicate the science matters creatively and easily to the society. This is coincident with Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation’s policy in supporting and promoting the science society in Thailand through practicing young science communicators with deep understanding in science. I would like to congratulate the 10 outstanding and determined young participants who received the Outstanding Science Communicator Award. I sincerely hope that this platform will encourage them become qualified science communicators for developing Thailand and our world in the future.”

The 4 winners of the Best Science Communicator Award who presented effectively, will represent Thailand in science communication activities for a week of July 2025, in Germany. They are:

  1. Mr.Kong Nueng Numsangwanich, Nawamintharachiraj University with “Expectation to the Unanticipated”
  2. Ms.Panita Chawikhunrum, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi with “Trust the Tuna”
  3. Ms.Pimpraewa Phuttarakkhit, Mahidol University with

 “Sweet Sugarcane, Once Eaten, But Not Completely Gone”

  1. Ms.Warisara Kunchaiphanich, Faculty of Medicine, Srisawangwatana, Chulabhorn Royal Academy with “Decarbonizing Steel: Hydrogen for A Sustainable Tomorrow”

For 6 Outstanding Science Communicators Awards, each received a scholarship of 5,000 Baht, and the opportunity to join NSM in various events as science communicators. They are:

  2. Ms.Punpitra Phuthorn, Khon Kaen University with “Ordinary Water Bottles to Eco-Friendly Clothes”
