NSM Joins Force DMR to Empower Science and Environmental Geology

Asst.Prof.Dr.Rawin Raviwongse, President of National Science Museum-NSM signed an MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) with Mr.Pichit Sombatmak, Director-General, Department of Mineral Resources-DMR, on May 7, 2025 at Einstein Room, NSM, Klong 5, Klong Luang, Pathum Thani province. The MOU is to jointly develop and promote knowledge in science, environmental geology, and encourage more inspiration in biology, paleontology, and museum management. In the ceremony, Mr.Suwarong Wongsiri, NSM Vice President, Dr.Ganigar Chen, NSM Vice President, Lieutenant Colonel Somkid Kit-ueawiriya, DMR Inspector General and Ms.Siraprapa Chatprasert, DMR Director, the Office of Mineral Resources Region 3, witnessed the signing ceremony.

Asst.Prof.Dr.Rawin said “The signing of MOU between DMR and NSM is a collaboration to efficiently combine forces of our expertise and resources, aiming to foster and develop knowledge in science, technology, natural science, biodiversity, ecosystem, paleontology, and museum management, as well as transferring knowledge of environmental geology to children, youth, and people.  The collaboration also reflects NSM’s attempt to inspire youth and the public to have more enjoyable discovering the wonders of science, which is a vital foundation for learning and sustainable social development.”

For Mr.Pichit, he said “DMR has great pleasure to have a collaboration with NSM to develop and disseminate knowledge on environmental geology. This collaboration is an important step in creating understanding of geology and natural diversity to promote environmental awareness and learning among people of all ages. In addition, both organizations will cooperate in exchanging reference materials, technical information, and activities for enhancing the capacity of personnel. This is a good opportunity to show our mutual intensions to reinforce our commitment to effectively develop our knowledge base and capabilities for more acceptance both nationally and internationally.”
