NSM and SCISOC Enhance ASEAN Student Science Project Competition in 11th ASPC2025

July 16, 2025/ Dr.Ganigar Chen, Vice President, National Science Museum (NSM), Dr.Taweesak Bunluesin, Corporate Affairs and Government Relations Manager and Ms.Woranun Sakulsiritarakul, Corporate Affairs and Government Relations Advisor from ExxonMobil, Ltd. have presided over the 11th ASEAN Student Science Project Competition of ASPC 2025 at Sang Duean-Sang Thien Hall, NSM, Klong 5, Klong Luang, Pathum Thani province. The ASPC 2025 aims to strengthen ASEAN students ‘scientific learning processes and skills needed for the 21st century, and create a network of exchanging experiences and cultures among youth and teachers in ASEAN region.

In the opening ceremony, Dr.Ganigar said “NSM with an association with the Science Society of Thailand Under the Patronage of HM the King (SCISOC) have arranged the 11th ASPC2025, during July 15-20, 2025 to be a stage of talent for the youth in secondary school level 3-6.  The selected 105 youth participants from 8 ASEAN countries: Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Philippines, Laos, Myanmar, and Thailand have come to join in the competition.  The 3 areas of science: Physical Science, Biological Science and Applied Science are defined as competitive fields.  We hope that the youth participants will create new science projects, inventions or innovations that can be applied to solve problems in everyday life, and help create a network of young scientists in ASEAN. These activities will lead to the escalating of new generation of science and technology manpower to become quality scientists for ASEAN and Thailand in the future.”

In the ASPC2025, the youth participants have joined the PEP Talk with two speakers from Exxon Mobil; Dr.Taweesak Bunluesin, on “From Passion to Project: Fueling Curiosity into Discovery Your Science Journey Starts Here, and Ms.Woranun Sakulsiritarakul, on “ExxonMobil Thailand's STEM Initiatives: Empowering the next generation of scientists and innovators through STEM.
