Search for the Best Young Space Innovators: Thailand CANSAT-ROCKET Competition 2026 Final Round

Phatum Thani/June 11, 2026 Ms.Sirirat Sermvitoon, Vice President, National Science Museum (NSM) and Gen. Charat Oumsomrit, Ph.D., General-Director, Defense Technology Institute (DTI) opened Thailand CANSAT-ROCKET Competition 2026 which has been consecutively held in the 10th year by NSM, DTI and Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency (GISTDA). The Competition was held during June 11-14, 2026 at NSM Khlong 5 and Nava Special Warfare Royal Thai Fleet, Sattahip, Chon Buri Province. It aimed to elevate skills of science and space technology in designing and initiation of small satellites or CANSAT and rocket among students in high schools.  

Ms.Sirirat said “NSM has enhanced youth people to pursue their curiosity in science and space technology, while simultaneously cultivating forward-thinking abilities such as critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork. The competition of 2026 has selected 15 teams from 121 teams from applicants nationwide to the final round, representing a vital force in inspiring and sparking new innovations that will benefit the country in the future.” 

Gen.Dr. Charat said “The competition is a significant platform that provides young people with the opportunity to think critically and propose their ides into practice. This is a valuable experience in increasing their potential, which can be further applied to drive the development of space and satellites technology in the future.”
