NSM Science Caravan Held at Lampang with Enterning Activities

Asst.Prof.Dr.Rawin Raviwongse, president, National Science Museum (NSM), Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, Ms. Nitiya Pongpanit, deputy governor, Lampang province, and Mr.Wirot Lakman, director, Lampang Kanlayanee School have opened “NSM Science Caravan Lampang” on January 20, 2025 at Lampang Kanlayanee School, Lampang province. The NSM Science Caravan has offered youth audience; a variety of fun and amazing mobile exhibitions and science activities, for examples, “Science for Fun”, “Enjoy Science Careers”, “Open Sky, Look for Stars”, “, Invention Conner”, and amusing science games, etc. The NSM Science Caravan has been held during January 20-23, 2025.

Prof.Dr.Rawin said “NSM has created “Science Caravan to raise an inspiration of discovery, lifelong learning with wonderful science through arranging exhibitions and a variety of activities for drawing attention and creating accessibility of learning resources among youth groups living nationwide. The youth can access real experience through hands-on, and seeking answers themselves. Then, the youth in Lampang will get knowledge, and will pay more attention in science as the youth living in urban areas. The NSM Science Caravan, in addition, has responded minister of Higher Education, Ms Supamas Isarapakdi that attempted to foster learning opportunity and equality of education. Consequently, the policy has emphasized developing skills of the youth, and motivated them to further advanced learning for country development.”

“Importantly, the NSM Science Caravan” at Lampang has been held under an association with many private and public organizations, for examples, National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT), Institute for the Promotion of Teaching Science and Technology (IPST)y, National Institute of metrology (NIMT), Office of Atoms for Peace (OAP), and iMAKE Digital Technology Skills and Innovation Development Institute (DTI), etc.” he said.

Ms.Nitiya, deputy governor said “we feel pleased and proud that our youth and teachers have an opportunity to access scientific experiences through “NSM Science Caravan”. The caravan will create equal opportunity for the youth in Lampang and nearby provinces to learn science as the youth living in the central parts. The activities will support the youth to get more experience leading to skills development, scientific thinking skills and creativity skills. In addition, I would like to thank you NSM and Lampang Kanlayanee School for arranging the activities since it will help develop quality of education according to basic education, and international education standard.”

Mr. Wirot, director, Lampang Kanlayanee School said “The NSM Science Caravan” is a part of cooperation between NSM and our school to promote scientific learning through exhibitions and scientific activities. The caravan has encouraged our youth to get more scientific knowledge with fun, and increase their awareness that science is at hand. We expect the youth understand science and have inspiration to apply it in daily lives.”
