To celebrate the 6th Cycle of HM King Rama X, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation (MHESI) by National Science Museum (NSM) has launched “MHESI Science Caravan” to communicate and inherit his wisdom on science to inspire the Thai youth’s awareness and for societal sustainability. The mobile Science Caravan with honoring exhibitions and science activities also aims to expand learning opportunity in 7 provinces nationwide.
Ms.Supamas Isarabhakdi, minister of MHESI said “ on the auspicious occasion of the King’s 6th Cycle of Birthday; 28th July, MHESI by National Science Museum (NSM) and agencies in MEHESI will arrange a mobile science museum called “MHESI Science Caravan’ to honor HM the King and inherit his scientific wisdom and royal activities to raise inspiration among youth and the Thai society as well as continuing and transferring it towards sustainability. The Science Caravan arranged under cooperation of both public and local private organizations will create and expand more learning opportunity and scientific awareness for many outreach provinces. On the other hand, it will further support and provide a platform for preparing our manpower to serve sustainably knowledge-based society and lifelong learning.”
Asst.Prof.Dr.Rawin Raviwongse, president of NSM gave more details about the Science Caravan “the Science Caravan will mobilize its activities in 7 provinces as follows: June 4-7 at Samchuk Rattanaphokhram School, Suphanburi Province, June 11-14 at Ang Thong Patthamarot Witthayaakhom School, Ang Thong Province, June 18-21 at Prachuap Wittayalai School, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, July 2-5 at Takuapa “Senanukul” School, Phanh Nga Province, July 9-12 at Phuket Wittayalai School, July 23-26 at Satun Wittaya School, Satun Province, and July31-August 2 at Songkhla Rajabhat University, Songkhal Province. On this special occasion, MHESI is proud to present a variety of knowledge and fun science activities to inspire the youth audience in areas, such as the “Exhibition in Honor of HM the King Rama X” to communicate his various aspects and genius on fostering science and technology by embracing his wishes and ideas and transferring to youth for creating sustainability of the Thai society. A mobile exhibition on ‘Science for Fun” to encourage basic-science experimentation and finding answers through interactive media. Get fun with science careers exhibition to discover career aptitude through tests and experiences from role-playing activities. A “Senior Nearby” exhibition to give experience with simulating as elderly person, learning and preparing and promoting happy living together. “Open Sky and Look for Stars” to get experience and learning about constellations, and get excited by watching 3-D astronomy movie in Full Dome. Have fun with “Science Show” and experiments with colorful ballons and scientific knowledge close to you.”
