A memorandum of understanding (MOU) between National Science Museum (NSM) and School of Design and Architecture Sripatum University (SOA, SPU) was signed by Dr.Ganigar Chen, NSM vice president and Mr.Teerabun Phisanapipong, dean, School of Design and Architecture Sripathum University on October 26, 2023 at G1 Lounge, SPU DSPACE, SPU. The MOU focus on collaboration on development of communication and positive attitude towards science, technology, and innovation, particularly in developing spaces within the NSM museum using creative design thinking process. The SPU students will create their creative ideas of design for attractive and fun museum spaces as well as product and exhibit work pieces in NSM museums. In addition, the MOU will help to develop new architecture curriculums and ideas of creating new value -added products.
Dr.Ganigar said “NSM’s mission is to encourage the Thai society to absorb the roles of science in national development, cultivate and transfer knowledge to youth and people to have a positive attitude towards science, technology and innovation through exhibitions and science-based activities and lifelong learning resources in science museums. The objectives of the collaboration are to jointly communicate and create a positive attitude towards science, technology, and innovation in developing displaying spaces in museums with design thinking process skills which SPU students will design with creative ideas to draw more attractive and fun of the audience, including creating products and exhibitions. Moreover, the collaboration will encourage NSM and SOA to develop new curriculums to serve creative economy and learning society in this country.”
Mr.Teerabun said “Faculty of Design and Architecture, SPU has taught architecture courses that produces graduates with professional architectural skills according to international standards with knowledge to apply modern technology in professional practice. We have also promoted applied research and an area-based learning to develop learning from real experiences and areas. The collaboration between NSM and SOA will encourage and draw the potentials of SPU students and their knowledge to create new learning resources of NSM.”
