Youth Social Volunteer: 3rd Batch of Creative Summer Break Project By NSM

Ms. Sitirat Sermwithoon, Vice President, National Science Museum (NSM) opened an orientation of “Youth Social Volunteer: 3rd Batch of Creative Summer Break” held by NSM, on April 2, 2026 at Rama 9 Museum, Khlong 5, Khlong Luang, Pathum Thani. She made an introductory remark about roles and activities of NSM as a learning resource of science, technology and innovation to the 142 high-school students participated in the project.  

Ms. Sirirat revealed that since school vacation is an opportunity for students to learn new experiences outside the classroom, NSM, therefore provided a space for them to experience new skills, social experiences, inspiration for their future careers. NSM expected that those experiences would shape the students to become worthful contributors to our society. The project aimed to be a platform to cultivate a sense of public service and scientific thinking processes sustainably. 

She said that the third batch of youth volunteer will gain practical experience in various tasks throughout April 2026, for example, welcoming and assisting visitors, learning basic services and management skills, learning roles of young science communicators, absorbing knowledge and practicing how to present the exhibitions as well as supporting other learning activities of museums and learning resources in NSM, such as NSM at Khlong 5, NSM Science Square at the Street Ratchada Bangkok, NSM Science square in Chiang Mai, etc.  

In addition, the project was carried out by NSM with the cooperation and support of Lactasoy Co., Ltd and Srilamthap (Thailand) Co.,Ltd. who recognized the importance of cultivating youth potential and a science-based learning society in this country.
